Monthly progress update #1 - "Even though I didn't do much, I like transparency and frequent updating in game development"

Won't go into much detail here, nor will I apologize to anyone for not doing a lot in terms of progress (except myself, probably), so here's a short list of what I've done so far:

  • figured out why I couldn't log in on Gitlab (and now I feel really dumb);
  • wrote more scenario text (totaling 26.8 kB as of writing this post);
  • started working on sprites for a new character (preview picture included);
  • played around with an idea for an interactive overworld that is yet to be finalized since the original vision requires more than 2 affine bgs (and the GBA only allows 2 at most) in order to be executed;
  • almost completed the bitmap font I wanted to use for the jam version of the game but eventually decided to release it as a standalone project (expect an itch release very soon).

And that is it! I still have a lot of ideas and features I'd like to implement in the final version, so don't expect me to lose interest in the game any time soon.
